It's advisable to visit La Défense during office hours, because when the offices in La Defense are closed, the gates are locked, hence hiding the magnificent inner area from view. The boring grey aluminum exterior of the outskirts of the complex give way to a brilliantly colored canyon that twists its way through the center of the building.
